DVD surround sound has become a necessity in our noisy home. We have four kids, and they are not the quiet types.
Three are boys, and they are always active and bustling with ambition. There are several times throughout the evening that we find ourselves reminding them that they are indoors and need to play with their indoor voices. They always have a new story to tell, and it is usually in the middle of a movie that they will remember it. If it's not a story, it's some kind of sound effect that they feel they must display. Sometimes I swear they make them just so that they can be making noise.
I have a difficult time watching movies when they are making all of their playful sounds. I can't hear things very well when there is too much noise in the background. The way that we have solved this issue is to get DVD surround sound. Now, all I have to do in order to hear my movie is turn up the volume on the DVD player recorder!
